i had a pleasant experience with friendly staff and the hotel's proximity to the bustling Plaza de Armas just a short walk away. Moments later, i found myself relaxing in the peaceful Parque El Loa, soaking in the serene atmosphere and greenery, making my city explorations truly delightful.

i thought i’d have a lovely stay, but i was greeted with a cramped shower and a toilet in disarray. stunningly, no one was available at the counter when i needed the situation fixed. i almost gave a good review, but they certainly could’ve offered a complimentary gesture for my troubles. just unforgivable!

The Ibis Budget in Calama offers clean rooms and excellent staff support. Although the triple room is quite compact, the location near supermarkets and malls is a big plus! 😊

The location is super convenient for grabbing some essentials, with a Jumbo supermarket and shopping malls nearby, which makes it easy to stock up before heading into the Atacama Desert. The room itself provides decent space for a budget place, especially for groups, with a triple layout that can accommodate a few extra friends.

Unfortunately, not all is stellar here. The shower and toilet are cramped, making for a tight fit, and hot water can be hit or miss—definitely not ideal for a morning refresh. Some light bulbs in our room were out, which made it tricky to get ready, and checking in was longer than necessary. There were issues with the room assignment, and while we made do with what we got, it wasn't the best experience. Food service was slow at dinner. we had to wait a long time, and orders occasionally went awry during our stay.

Tiny rooms but at least the air conditioning worked like a charm! Plus, it’s right next to a shopping center, which is great for late-night snacks.
